Do I only need to install the Update.rpf OIV package; or would I need to also install the spfixes folder contents too?
Also, do I install the OVI package in mods folder or the root game folder.
@GTA5FGGG_REAL You need to install both and yes, in the mods folder
does this work?
Hi Alex, can this be used alongside "GameplayFixesV" by SuleMareVientu?
@supergamer777 If you mean with the Enhanced version, yes
@Arthandas Yes
@Alex106 Do you work on weapon fixes or small vanilla edits anymore? Because from what I have seen, the carbine rifle and assault shotgun in the next gen versions has different iron sights compared to the xbox360 and ps3 versions, where the sights are a bit larger and better looking imo. I dunno if you would be able to make those, but it's entirely upto you since it is already a lot of work for to handle big projects like these and gives no time for minor mods.
@Default_Username I could, but it would cause the view in first person to be obstructed, so it's not really worth IMO
@Alex106 totally makes sense. Although before closing the conversation, I definitely would suggest taking the next gen iron sights and modifying them to heavily resemble the old gen ones. What I have noticed is that Rockstar not only changed the placement or alignment of the sights in the next gen versions, but they also basically trimmed some of the areas of the iron sights to make them look smaller.
Taking the old gen models themselves and restoring them seems like a very bad idea as you said, because they might actually be obstructive due to alignment differences.
By the way, this is what I mean to say about the iron sights being "trimmed". https://postimg.cc/Bt7Q3z7t
For lazies, can only DLC files be applied ?.. or is there at least a few important/mandatory files to add to update RPF ?
For Enhancced btw
@Klemc I updated only the DLC pack
@Alex106 Hey mate, sorry to bother you but I wanted to ask some info on a particular mod related to small weapon edits. I have seen many gameplay videos and still do in which the regular SMG's stock is equipped on the SMG MKII. The mod is quite old as it dates back to at least late 2017.
Here is one example, https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uNlM0UlmqZI (appears at 6:55) and here is the most recent one https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DXPRDQa-Nw8 (appears at 0:25).
If you have seen this in the past or have known it, let me know. I have looked for this mod everywhere and can't find it. Thanks.
@Default_Username I never saw that mod, sorry
can i download this mod latest gta 5 version and when i ask chat gpt for this mod this is ok so this is what they say : If your GTA 5 is the latest Steam (original) version, then Fixes & Improvements 5.2 Legacy is not recommended for you.
Here’s why 👇
⚠️ Why not use the Legacy version:
The Legacy version is only made for old GTA 5 builds (like 1.0.2802.0 and older).
The new Steam version already includes many of those fixes from Rockstar.
Installing the Legacy version can cause crashes, missing textures, or conflicts with updated files.
@proffesinalDeveloper The mod didn't even exist at the time of the build 2802 so, if anything, it's compatible with any build but that one. Plus, these fixes haven't been done officialy by R* (lol) and it doesn't cause issues (unless with maybe other mods)
@Alex106
Right now I’m running GTA V Legacy [v 1.0.3586-1.71]. I wanted to ask if one of your fixes happens to address the following:
For a long time I couldn’t figure out why, shortly after loading into the game from a save, I’d hear a distant explosion somewhere in Los Santos. Just recently, I accidentally discovered the cause — it’s a crash during landing of a plane from the AIRPORT_PLANES_SMALL class. While investigating the situation in CodeWalker, I noticed that right before the landing point, the flight path suddenly dips downward, breaking the smooth trajectory — almost like there’s an air pocket in that spot. Although, to be fair, the Jet’s landing path also has a similar drop, but it manages to land without crashing, albeit not very gracefully.
As soon as I get the chance, I’ll try tweaking this in los_santos_international_airport.ymt and see what happens — though I’ll admit, I’m not too confident in this area yet.
@Sayak Katagan That issue is caused by the NPC inside the plane despawning, but I can't fix that
@Alex106 Thanks for the clarification! Do you think the landing trajectory tweaks I’m planning to try out myself could actually fix the issue? Is it worth spending time on?
@Sayak Katagan I don't think that can fix it
update.rpf Files: import the "dlc_patch" and "x64" folders in "mods\update\update.rpf"
how do i do this on enhanced? how do you update rpf files without opveniv?
@c0m2el With CodeWalker https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/codewalker-gtav-interactive-3d-map (in the description you can find a link to the Discord server with an updated version).
Alternatively, rename GTA5_Enhanced.exe to GTA5.exe and then change folder path in OpenIV to the Enhanced folder.
Once done importing, rename the file back to GTA5_Enhanced.exe
