This mod replaces the vanilla Vom Feuer Carbine Rifle with something more alike to a traditional M4. Markings have also been replaced with Hawk & Little.
Additionally, this mod also comes with a custom weapon icon and an optional scope that replaces the Elcan with a Trijicon MRO. Additionally, I added a black texture variation for the grip.
INSTALLATION:
1. Start OpenIV.
2. Navigate to the mods folder
4. Move the provided folder (nfrifle folder) inside:
mods/update/x64/dlcpacks
5. Locate 'dlclist.xml':
mods/update/update.rpf/common/data
6. Open it and add the following line to the bottom:
dlcpacks:\nfrifle\
7. If done correctly, the mod should be ready to use.
OPTIONAL INSTALLATION:
Optic / Grip texture:
1. Move the .ydr and .ytd files inside the weapons.rpf archive, where the rifle .ydr files are
Icons:
1. In OpenIV, go to "mods/update/update.rpf/x64/patch/data/cdimages/scaleform_generic.rpf/"
2. Replace the hud.ytd with the modified file provided

Why are all the carbine mods so small? Why is the micro-dick mk18 fetish still so alive and well that it's all people know how to (poorly) recreate? I can't find a single half-decent carbine replacement that just looks like a normal AR or M4 and is still compatible with default attachments.
@squidninja a lot of police forces use smaller rifles. if you want to find a normal AR, they exist.
@McHardWood So far I haven't found anything that isn't a cool-guy SOPMODDED TACTICAL CUSTOM ATTATCHMENTS COD cluster-fuck of a custom model. So far the Tarkov M4 replacement is the best I could find, and it's mostly compatible with default attachments. Scale is still janky, though. And for police use, it's pretty uncommon for snubby little SEAL larp rifles to be used, at least by anyone legitimate.
@squidninja Equinox407 has about a dozen AR15 platform rifles on his page.
I don't know about America, but up north in Canada, most police departments like the Ontario Provincial Police and Toronto Police Service carry smaller rifles. Makes sense to use smaller rifles for patrol officers. If you're talking about a tactical unit, then a larger rifle would make sense.
@McHardWood Ah, that's probably what it is. Here in the US it's much more common to see 14.5in-16in rifles across the board, with the shorter end mostly being on the military side. SBR's are considered pretty use-case specific and aren't so popular beyond some special units and enthusiasts with a lot of disposable income (there is a hefty tax stamp required for short barreled rifles).
how do you get the holographic sight in the screenshots
@cam4290 its one of the vanilla sights, you can probably add it on with certain trainers. The screenshot was taken in FiveM with Vmenu, you can add it there for example.
why can't I zoom in using the holographic sight attachment? anyone experiencing the same problem?
